Jinxed by Jaws
We recently welcomed a qualified diver from Australia. We were quite fascinated to learn that his name is made up of 3 people that were killed in the 3 Jaws movies. C'mon - everyone remembers them - the scary Great White Shark that was eating people. We remember watching the first one, directed by Steven Spielberg, based on Peter Benchley's 1974 novel. The film was released on June 20th of 1975 and quickly became the most popular film of all time at that time.
Three of the victims across the 3 movies were Chrissie Watkins, Alexander (Alex) Kintner and Ben Gardener. Our customer, Ben, has three names incorporated in his own name. What's more, there was a fatal shark attack that took place in Australia on 16th December - which is Ben's birthday! Ben went diving with us on 25th and 16th August. On his last dive, he encountered a Box Jellyfish, which is a rarity to see in Pattaya! After more than 13 years of diving in Pattaya, we have never seen a Box Jellyfish - so, wouldn't you say this guy is jinxed?
